Boeing Vertol Company Model 301. Developed for the US Army Heavy Lift Helicopter (HLH) proposal.
Not accepted by the US Army; contract cancelled Oct74. The aircraft never actually flew. It was
				essentially an incomplete concept model
In 1983, NASA and DARPA ( Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency) plans were initiated to resume
a Heavy Lift Research Vehicle [HLRV] test program, with a possible first flight in 1985,
				but was cancelled again.
Stored at Philadelphia until 1987 when transported to the US Army Aviation Museum, Fort Rucker, AL.
Scrapped at the Fort Rucker Army Aviation Museum, in Alabama, in Oct 11, 2005 to make room for a
parking lot. This sole prototype had deteriorated badly due largely, to prolonged open air storage,
and had become a hazard which could have disintegrated if any attempt to move it had been made.
The landing gears were delivered 2008 to the Helicopter Museum, Weston-super-Mare, UK.
